Spiderman!

Connor had a great day on Saturday - swim class was fun as always and he got to see Spiderman at Walmart! Of course the most exciting part of getting to see Spiderman was looking for him all over the store - did you know that there's Spiderman on just about every food these days??? Taco making kits, cookies, cakes, cereal, balloons, he was EVERYWHERE which Connor was delighted about - they were all clues that we were getting closer to him! He got a free photo out of the encounter too...

And here's his "report card" from swim class. He still needs to work on being comfortable going under water so we'll stay in the Turtle class for at least another session!

Thursday pics

We've neglected our usual Thursday photo sessions recently! :) Here are some from today of the boys hanging out in Logan's crib - a favorite play place for some odd reason! Don't forget you can click on them to see them bigger!

Give me a C, give me an O....

We went to a free trial class at the Boulder JCC this morning - Theater playtime was the name of the class. There were 6 kids (4 girls, 2 boys) and they had fun pretending to be different animals, walking through a room full of peanut butter or bubbles, and doing the "freeze" dance. Then it was time to choose a costume and make up a play. Two girls chose to be fairies. The other two chose to be princesses. One boy chose to be a pirate. The other boy, yeah that would be Connor, chose to be a.....cheerleader. Yep, a cheerleader. Pom-poms and all. The teacher tried to talk him into wearing a cape, a cowboy hat, anything else but a cheerleader costume as she was very surprised he wanted it in the first place. As I was taking pictures another mom said "I guess he won't be running for office now, huh?" Sigh...why is it so wrong for him to pretend to be a cheerleader? He's 3! Should I start drilling into his head which things are for boys and which things are for girls? Is it weird that he doesn't already know which tiny little box he's supposed to fit into? I don't think wearing a cheerleader costume is going to make him gay any more than I think wearing his Superman costume week after week (as he did around Halloween last year) would make him suddenly learn how to fly. Nor do I think it will preclude him from running for office though I'm not sure why anyone would want to run for office these days anyway :) So...here is my very cheery little 3 year old boy!

For the record, he still wanted to save the princesses from the bad guy. :)

This weekend

Connor woke up yesterday morning to discover a leprechaun had been in our home! There were green streamers everywhere including some that made it hard to get downstairs and some that tied all the kitchen chairs together. The leprechaun had moved ALL of Connor and Logan's green toys onto the kitchen table (frogs, turtles, playdoh, a ball, stacking rings, a plate, spoon, bowl, socks, crayons, etc, etc) and had added shamrock stickers, a new shirt for Logan and a new shirt for Connor to the pile! He even dyed the milk green and left green cereal bars for breakfast! We went to swim class and Connor had lots of fun as usual. Grandma and Grandpa came to watch too! Afterward we went to the park and then out to lunch with Shannon and Rhyann - it was a great St. Patrick's Day!

Logan and Connor

Awww...

Lepre-Connor :)

Playing at the park - it was so beautiful outside!

Logan hanging out in the grass

Give a 3 year old boy a camera and this is what he finds interesting...

We went to Chuck E. Cheese's for the first time this afternoon and Connor had a ball. He's been asking to go for weeks ever since we got some coupons for it in the mail. We couldn't figure out how he knew that the coupons were for Chuck E. Cheese's since we'd never been there but discovered this morning that they play a commercial for it right after Curious George is over - of course! Anyway, there were lots of games for kids his age and he ate THREE pieces of pizza! While he was eating that pizza he told me "Mommy, I want to live here." Haha! He did especially well with the air hockey - he played against a girl who was probably 5 or 6 and only lost by one point! And she cheated several times by knocking it in when he was distracted! :) I was impressed that we didn't have to drag him out of there kicking and screaming like so many of the other kids before him - he was actually tired and ready to go when we were! The pictures inside didn't turn out too well (way to much movement!) but I took this one of him outside - he was trying to get me to block the sun :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We visited a preschool this morning that we're considering sending Connor to in the fall and a leprechaun had visited there last night leaving lots of goodies for the kids - shamrocks, gold coins and pennies scattered around the floor, a pot of gold in the middle of the room and even a potato! It was kind of a crazy day for us to visit but Connor loved it! During their outside play time they all ran around the playground looking for clues as to where the leprechaun was hiding and everything was a clue - a leaf pointing toward the slide meant he went that way and a pile of rocks meant he went over there. It was fun to watch them work together trying to find him! :) For snack they made green eggs and ham - each kid got to break their own egg into a cup, the teacher added a drop of green food coloring and then they got to scramble them. She cooked the eggs and ham on a hot plate and talked about how food coloring is kind of like paint because it changes the color of the food but we can't eat paint! They voted on whether or not the food coloring changed the taste of the food and read Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham. They also had PE time where they went into the play room and stetched, did jumping jacks, ran in circles, ran in place, and jumped as far as they could. You would have thought Connor had been with these kids all year - he fit right in!

Mrs. Buckett (the preschool teacher) said she thought he'd do great in the 4 year old class in the fall. He's actually supposed to be in the 3 year old class since he misses the birthday cutoff by 9 days, but she thought he'd do better in with the 4 year olds. He did a great job paying attention during the story and obviously didn't have any separation issues since he couldn't have cared less whether Logan and I stayed in the room with him or not! It helps that he goes to preschool already, of course!

Anyway, happy St. Patrick's Day from our little leprechauns!

P.S. Last night Daddy and Connor were reading a Mother Goose book and Daddy asked Connor to read him some of the stories. This is how it went:

"Humpty dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty dumpty bonked his head."

"Rain, rain, go away, come again tomorrow"

"Hickory, dickory, dock! Why is the mouse running up the clock? Why is girl standing on a chair?"

Picnic!

It was sooo beautiful yesterday that when Daddy got home from work we went to Subway and picked up dinner to eat at the park. It was so nice out and we're still getting used to the time change so we were surprised to be heading home at 7 pm! Here are some pictures...

I almost always take pictures when they're smiling so I thought you'd like this picture of Logan getting upset that his bottle was no longer in his mouth!

Connor eating his gigantic sandwich - Subway no longer has the round rolls they used for kids sandwiches - they just get a 4" sub on regular bread which is hard for a little mouth to handle!

Logan's first time in a swing - he loved it!

Certainly not Connor's first time - "Higher, Daddy, higher!!!!"

Logan's first time in the sand and he didn't even put any in his mouth!

Awww...

I hear the ice cream man...better run! :)

Mooo

Oh, I'm such a bad mom...

Connor, looking at a container of chocolate milk: Mommy, milk comes from cows.

Me: Yes, it does! What color are the cows?

Connor: Brown.

Me: Of course, it's chocolate milk! What color cows make regular milk?

Connor: Hmm...white?

Me: Probably...

Connor: And Coke colored cows make Coke.

Me, now feeling a little remorse about misleading him: Cows don't make Coke, sweetie.

Connor: Uh-huh. Apple colored cows make apple juice too.

Me: Ok...

Yep, just as my Dad had me believing a watermelon was going to grow in my tummy if I swallowed a black seed, my son is going to be scanning the roadsides for coke and apple colored cows :) And how do you tell the difference between the brown cows that make chocolate milk and the brown cows that make Coke, anyway? Maybe one has a bubbly personality.... haha

Photo Overload

It's been a week since I've posted so the photos have backed up :) By the way, happy March!

Logan with his new play table - with his tongue sticking out as usual

Happy baby!

Really happy baby!

Pretty good shot considering I was laying on the floor and holding it over my head (that's my hair in the lower left corner)!

Did I mention Logan likes to stick out his tongue?

Daddy and Logan in swim class on Tuesday

Hanging out on big brother's bed. He has the best toys!

Great smile!

Look at me! Connor got a haircut on Thursday so we had to take pictures of the new 'do!

Cheesy smile :)

My favorite shot of the bunch...I love the way Logan looks at Connor!

This one has me in it but ignore that part and look at Connor's great smile!

Laughing hysterically at Connor

Connor's school is having their 2nd annual Olympics today. I'm not quite sure what all they have planned but there will surely be pictures later! :)
